This September, Bellevue City Lifestyle profiled Alan Robinson in a feature titled “An Artist by Training, a Painter by Trade,” written by Kellie Walton. The piece traces the throughline of Alan’s work: before he ever painted a house, he painted canvases — and he brought that fine-artist’s eye with him to the wall.
“He takes everything through a painter’s lens — not a house painter, an actual artist,” his wife Beth told the magazine. It’s the difference that shows up first in color — seeing, in his mind’s eye, how a room’s light will shift a shade across the day. The article recounts a Kingston Springs project where Alan turned a plain surface into a distressed fireplace and reworked white cabinets into a soft, distressed green. “By the end,” Beth said, “it was a piece of art.”
It’s also where the magazine put a name to what Bellevue neighbors already knew him as: Nashville’s Most Trusted Brush.
