We live in Brentwood, TN, and hired Alan and his crew to paint our kitchen—including the walls, cabinets, trim, and ceiling—as well as our living room, including the walls, wood paneling, trim, and ceiling.
Before beginning the project, I interviewed several painters and ultimately chose Alan because of his competitive pricing, excellent communication, and attention to minimizing disruption to our family and our home. I especially appreciated his willingness to divide the project into two phases to accommodate our family’s schedule and the space we were living in.
Throughout the project, Alan and his crew were kind, respectful, professional, and incredibly communicative. I received regular texts, calls, and updates, and Alan consistently checked in with questions to make sure everything was exactly to my liking. Their attention to detail and quality of work really stood out.
We are very happy with the results and look forward to having Alan and his crew complete the second half of our project this fall. I would highly recommend Alan to anyone looking for a talented, reliable painter in the greater Nashville area!

You're Not Hiring a Painter.
You're Hiring an Artist Who Paints Houses.
How a fine artist came to set the finish standard for Nashville homes.
Started With a Canvas
Alan Robinson's art career started in Denver, Colorado — large-scale oil canvases filled with bold color, rich texture, and light that pulls you in. For Alan, painting was never a job but always a calling.
Brought His Eye to Nashville
When Alan moved to Nashville in 2007, he kept painting — on canvas and on walls. His murals hang in Katie's Ice Cream in Dickson, The Temple Preschool in Belle Meade, Bethany Retreat House, and the Sisters of Mercy Convent. Nashville knows his work, even when they don't know it's his.
Built a Reputation One Home at a Time
Since 2007, after hundreds of Nashville homes, Alan and the team at Alan Robinson Painting stand behind every brush stroke. Alan sets the finish standard his name is on, and every stage of the work gets inspected before it's called finished. Our reputation in this city speaks for itself — that's why families hire us for their second and third homes.
Your Home, Through an Artist's Eyes
The difference between a room that looks painted and a room that looks transformed is the eye behind the brush. Alan sees color the way a painter sees a canvas — how light hits the wall at 3pm, how the trim should relate to the ceiling, which finish will make that hallway feel twice as wide. That's what a fine artist's eye brings to your living room.
"Color chosen for your light. Every stage inspected before it's called finished."

Our Name Is on the Work
When you hire us, you know exactly whose name is on your home. Alan, his wife Beth, and their son Sawyer put their name behind every project, so you get personal accountability, consistent craftsmanship, and people who still pick up the phone long after the final coat dries.
We aren't an anonymous painting crew, and we don't compete to be the lowest bidder. We're the painters homeowners call when trust matters, details count, and the job needs to be done exactly right.
Here for this project — and the next one, whether that's in a month, a year, or ten.
Meet the Robinsons →What Nashville Homeowners Say About Our House Painting
Alan and his team did a wonderful job with our cabinet repainting project. We did both the kitchen and master bath. They also repaired some various wall damage from our pups. They are very respectful in your home. I work from home and they were great to accommodate.
Alan impressed us with his excellent communication and attention to detail. We had a tricky schedule and he made it work! He is a perfectionist. Could not recommend more!
This is the 2nd time we had a project and hired Alan. It was very punctual for an estimate. He pays excellent attention to details. Would hire again no question. Thank you again!
Alan and Sawyer did an excellent job painting a bedroom, pantry, and touch-ups in a bathroom. They were professional, left the rooms in excellent shape, and communicated well about their progress. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to complete a painting project in their home!

View the Full Service AreaQuestions Nashville Homeowners Ask Before Hiring a Painter
- How much does interior painting cost in Nashville?
- Every interior project is priced to your home, not a chart — prep, ceiling height, trim detail, and paint choice differ house to house, so we don't publish a flat rate. We walk the rooms with you, then you get a detailed written estimate with a firm number and no hidden costs. Estimates are always free.
- Who will be painting my home?
- Your project is held to Alan's standard from start to finish. Alan is a working fine artist who sets the standard every coat is held to; we walk your home with you before we begin, and the work is checked before we call it done. Our standards don't move — you're hiring the family whose name is on the company.
- Can you help me choose colors?
- Yes. Alan is a working fine artist, and color is where that shows. If you're unsure, we'll help you get the palette right for your light, your finishes, and how each room is actually used — so the color you commit to is the one you love once it's on the wall.
- Do I need to move out while you paint my home?
- No. Most families stay in their homes throughout the project. We work in a planned sequence so you keep the use of your kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms, we contain each work area, and we tidy up at the end of every day. We'll walk you through the schedule so you always know what's happening and when.
- How do you protect my home while you work?
- We treat your home like it's ours. Floors, furniture, and finishes are covered and protected before a brush is opened, we keep the work area clean day to day, and we clean up at the end — so the only thing you notice is the result.
- What if I'm not happy with the result?
- We stand behind our work and make sure every customer loves the result. Alan's standard and a final walkthrough on every project mean problems get caught before we call the job finished, not after — so “finished” means you're happy with what you see.
- Are you licensed and insured?
- Yes. Alan Robinson Painting is fully licensed and insured, so your home and your project are protected from the first day to the last. We've painted homes across Bellevue, Brentwood, Belle Meade, Franklin, and the greater Nashville area since 2007.
- How do I get a free consultation?
- Call or text (615) 498-3992, or request a consult through the form on this page. We'll set up a free in-home visit at a time that suits you, Monday through Saturday.
