A Brentwood Family Room in White, With the Mantel Painted to Match

The walls and the raised-panel wainscoting in this Brentwood family room are white, and the fireplace surround and mantel were painted white to join them. The stained shutters and French doors stayed wood-toned on purpose, so the room keeps its warmth.

Interior Painting in Brentwood Where the Prep Shows

Two frames show the mantel while it was still stained wood, and one shows the wainscoting patched and taped with the floor under drop cloths. That patching is where a paneled room is won or lost; every seam and nail hole is filled before the first coat. The dining room, with its own white wainscoting and shuttered windows, appears in the set as well.

What the homeowner said

We live in Brentwood, TN, and hired Alan and his crew to paint our kitchen—including the walls, cabinets, trim, and ceiling—as well as our living room, including the walls, wood paneling, trim, and ceiling.

Before beginning the project, I interviewed several painters and ultimately chose Alan because of his competitive pricing, excellent communication, and attention to minimizing disruption to our family and our home. I especially appreciated his willingness to divide the project into two phases to accommodate our family’s schedule and the space we were living in.

Throughout the project, Alan and his crew were kind, respectful, professional, and incredibly communicative. I received regular texts, calls, and updates, and Alan consistently checked in with questions to make sure everything was exactly to my liking. Their attention to detail and quality of work really stood out.

We are very happy with the results and look forward to having Alan and his crew complete the second half of our project this fall. I would highly recommend Alan to anyone looking for a talented, reliable painter in the greater Nashville area!
